Auspicious Wedding Dates in December 2012

These are the good and auspicious wedding dates (結婚吉日) for the month of December 2012.

And the two swear to the journey,
No matter what happens,
The two hands will never part.

You can use these auspicious dates for the following activities:
1.   ROM date
2.   Solemnization / Vows
3.   Delivery of Betrothal Gifts (过大礼)
4.   Delivery of Dowry (嫁妝)
5.   Setting up the bed for the couple (安床)
6.   Tea Ceremony
7.   Wedding dinner / party
8.   Wedding events (informal)
9.   Wedding ceremony

The following dates are all very auspicious and lucky days for the month. You can use it regardless of your race or religion. By filtering out the inauspicious hour to avoid conducting important activities indicated above, you now have a lot of flexibilities in planning the details of your wedding event.

As the following dates are not derived solely using the 12 Officers date selection system usually used in the Tong Shu, some of the days labelled as “No Good” in the Tong Shu are actually much more usable than it seems.

If you insist on the technical info, I derived the following dates by subjecting them to the standards of very stringent and well-known advanced date appraisal techniques:
1.   Dong Gong (董公)
2.   Qi Men Dun Jia (奇門遁甲)
3.   Xuan Kong Da Gua (玄空大卦)

The technique “28 Constellations (二十八宿)” is not used because these stars are constantly moving and the old texts with the old algorithm sequence is no longer accurate.

If you need further refinement (YES, it is still possible to further rank these good dates so please spare me the story that you paid a master 188 and all they did was flip some standard Tong Shu…), you can contact your Master for further assistance. But, if you would like me to tailor-rank the best dates within a month specifically for you and your partner’s wedding, I will further refine the dates for you using the below techniques:
4.   12 Officers Advance (十二值神密)
5.   Xuan Kong Purple White Nine Stars (玄空紫白九星)
6.   Xuan Kong Da Gua Advance (玄空大卦密)
7.   Ba Zi / Liu Zi Date Selection (八字 / 六字)
8.   I Ching / Yi Jing (易經)
9.   Dates that are helpful to fertility (only if you need to prioritize this)
10.   Dates that are helpful to money opportunities (only if you need to prioritize this)
11.   Dates that are helpful to recognition and support (only if you need to prioritize this)
12.   Dates that are helpful to harmony (by default, I will rank based on this)

As much as I would like to provide number 4-12 for free, they actually require very specific detail like your birthday info. Having the birth time will be helpful but not necessary. It also takes me a fair bit of time and effort to do this next level of refinement. Thus, I apologize for not being able to provide this next level for free. Just email me at for an exact quote. Yes, I will also help you adjust the Animal Hour to your local timing.

If you need help in deciphering the Animal Hours, just read the post “Animal Hour in Chinese Metaphysics I – Background“.

Hi Admin, hope you can help us do a check. Please, very urgent. If my partner and I are born:
    Groom, 19/2/1980
    Bride, 4/7/1977

Can we use 13th Dec? Lots of thanks!

  2. 7des7iny says:

    Groom, born in Monkey year.
    Bride, born in Snake year.

13th December is not suitable for people born in the year Tiger only. Therefore, good choice! You might want to look out for my post on “How to choose an auspicious date” soon so you can help your friends with it next time.

  3. sheena says:

    Hi Admin How about these:
    Groom: April 2, 1979
    Bride: October 20, 1983

Is January 9, 2012 good date? I have been bad review on this date please advise. Thanks for your help.

  4. 7des7iny says:

    Hi sheena,
    Groom: Born in Goat year
    Bride: Born in Pig year

If you refer to the list of auspicious wedding dates in Jan 2012 at (you can also use the search bar on the right to search for “jan 2012”), you will see not see January 9 in the list. Thus, first and foremost, it is not a special date.

I looked into the date, it is not a bad date either from energy point of view. But, it does not have those energy that enhance wedding purposes.

The main problem with this day is its incompatibility with people born in the year of the Pig. Thus, the energy structure does not favor the Bride.

If for some reason you must use it, take very big note of these 3 points:
    1. Some hassles may be expected around noon time or early part of the function. So, at the early stage of the day, just take it easy.
    2. Avoid initiating important vows or exchange during the Ox and Pig hour.
    3. The supportive hours you can make use of specific to your case is Monkey and Rooster hour. Meaning, conduct the most important activities or declaration during this hour.

  5. sheena says:

Hi- This is Sheena…Thank you so much!!!!!! How about January 10 or 12? That’s why I’m having planning my wedding on the 9th it makes sense.

  6. 7des7iny says:

Hi Sheena, 10 Jan is the best for both of you. Just take note not to initiate important vows somewhere that can range around 6pm to 9pm depending on which country you are in.

12 Jan is just a mediocre date. However, if you have no choice, it is still a better choice than 9 Jan.

  7. sheena says:

You’re awesome. One more thing I promise. How about January 5 or January 7 is this a bad dates for us? This is last question. Thank you again!

    • 7des7iny says:

Don’t worry. Feel free to clarify your doubts.
      Groom: Born in Goat year
      Bride: Born in Pig year

5 Jan is an auspicious day. However it is incompatible with those born in Goat year, so the Groom will not get much benefit from the day’s energy.
7 Jan is a normal day and does not really enhance activities like wedding. I rather you use 7 Jan than 5 Jan.

From our discussion, you can consider the dates in these order:
      10 Jan (Auspicious)
      7 Jan (Mediocre…)
      12 Jan (Mediocre…)
5 Jan (Auspicious but incompatible with those born in Goat year)
9 Jan (Mediocre… and incompatible with those born in Pig year)

      Hope that helps.

  8. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.

    mother: rabbit
    father in law: horse
    mother in law: goat
is 15 september 2012 or 8 desember 2012 good for us?
    thanks before.

  10. victor says:

    wanna ask:
    i’m (male) 22 october 1984
    fiance 13 december 1984
    my father : monkey
    mother: rabbit
    father inlaw: horse
    mother inlaw: goat

we plan our marriage at 8 december 2012 is good day for us?

    please replay, need urgent

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Victor,

I’ll answer your query on 8th Dec 2012.

Bride and Groom are born in the year of the Rat.

The day itself is nothing special. But at least, there is no conflict on the energy. The day is not suitable for Rooster pple and in your case there are no Rooster pple.

So, yes, 8th December 2012 is usable for you and your family. But, avoid the important vows exchange during morning from Snake hour to Goat hour. If you have no choice, then at least avoid the time around noontime when the sun condition seem to be the strongest on the day itself.

      Hope that helps.

  11. Carol says:

    Groom: 14 Nov 1977 (Snake)
    Bride: 26 Oct 1976 (Dragon)
Please help to advise if wedding date of 8 Dec 2012 (Sun) is good for both.

    Thank you~~

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Carol,

8th Dec 2012 is a Saturday. So…I hope you didn’t plan on it as if it was a Sunday. Otherwise, you might be talking about 9th Dec 2012 which is a Sunday.

I’ll just talk about the two dates for your convenience.
8th Dec 2012 (sat), as mentioned previously, not suitable for pple born in Rooster year. Avoid Goat hour in general.
9th Dec 2012 (sun), another relatively stable day (in terms of energy construct) but it’s not suitable for pple born in Dog year. Avoid Horse hour in general.

For your case, these two days are usable. Actually the one of 9th Dec 2012 (sun) suits you more. In your situation, no other special hours to avoid other than the generic hours mentioned above.

      Hope that helps.

  12. Jo says:

    Groom: 21 Jul 1983 (pig)
    Bride: 15 Apr 1986 (Tiger)

Actually we are looking at 7 Oct, 11 Nov and 16 Dec 2012.

Hope that you could advise us. Thank you

  13. 7des7iny says:

You can skip 11 Nov 2012 because the energy is in conflict despite the media hyping up on the awesomeness of 111111 or a 111112.

7 Oct is better than 16 Dec. Both are better than 11 Nov.
7 Oct not suitable for Goat, avoid Rooster hour.
16 Dec not suitable for Snake, avoid Rooster hour also.
Since both of you are born in the yr of Pig & Tiger, there is no issue in using it.

    Hope that helps.

    • Jo says:

Thank you very much for your helpful advice. Just one last thing. You mentioned that we shd avoid 11 nov 2012 because of conflicting energies. I rem seeing this date as an aupicious date in the tong shu.

Lastly, are 7 oct and 16 dec (inauspicious in tong shu) in ur calculation auspicious or neutral dates?

Am sorry if im askin too much.

      • 7des7iny says:

        Hi Jo,

This is almost the same reason why some of the dates are pretty good for marriage purposes or for certain couples even though the tong shu says it cannot be used. I have removed 11 Nov 2012 from my list because this date did not pass certain standards.

  14. casabelle says:

hi i would like to know if 1 dec 2012 is a good date for us to rom as it is our day we get together and thinking actual day on 2013/ 4 january as some people say it stand for 201314 mean love u forever.
    groom: 4 sep 1989 ( 4am plus born)(snake)
    bride: 3 july 1990 ( 10pm plus born)(horse)
bride father: rat (26/10/1960) , bride mother: snake (04/11/1965)
    groom mother: pig ( 12/12/1959)

Please email me and let me know.. thank you!

  15. 7des7iny says:

    Hi casabelle,

1 Dec: Not for Tiger people. Avoid Snake hour.
So, it is very suitable for your union since none of the main casts are born in the Tiger year. Just don’t do the ROM early in the morning in the Snake hour range.

That’s an interesting arrangement there for 201314.
The 4th Jan of 2013 isn’t a good day actually. But, sometimes, the event must still go on eh? For your case, try to schedule the important ceremonies within the Goat or Dog hour.

    Hope that helps.

  16. ezine says:

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same results.

  17. Jo says:

I was wondering what your thoughts were for a wedding in April, May of 2013. Any weekend dates are good. Is there a better date in the Spring that is not in these 2 months?

    Bride: February 13, 1981
    Groom: June, 16 1981

  18. ricky says:

I am wondering what your thoughts are for a wedding in December 22, 2012.

    Bride: September 16, 1980
    Groom: July 3, 1975

    Thanks you.

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi ricky,

Bride: Metal Monkey, yang Water person.
Groom: Wood Rabbit, yang Metal person.

22 Dec 2012 is not auspicious.
If you have no choice but to use it, give emphasis to these timing:
      A) Before 7am (it can mean waking up early and giving thanks and asking for blessing from your religion patron) and,
      B) Those conducted around 10am to slightly after noontime. If possible, schedule the important ceremonies that represents your union within this time range.

      Hope that helps.

  19. Jacz says:

I am wondering what your thoughts are for a wedding in December 14th or 28th, 2012.

    Bride: Pig, 1983
    Groom: Dog, 1982

    Thanks you.

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Jacz,

14th Dec 2012 and 28th Dec 2012 are both not good days. 14th Dec 2012 is slightly better than 28th Dec (between two inauspicious dates). But, it is still not suitable for marriage.

If you have no choice but to use it, make use of late morning till noontime (between 9am to 1pm) for important ceremonies.
Let red be the main colour theme for the wedding. Your situation is one of the few times when alcoholic drinks like red wine is encouraged.

      • Jacz says:

Thanks for the info. When you say between 9am to 1pm, will this apply for my timezone (Singapore)?

      • 7des7iny says:

Hi Jacz, you raised a good point. Relative time is more appropriate in this instance. So, yes, 9am to 1pm will still hold even if you change your mind and conduct the wedding in some other country.

  20. w says:

Would you please help to check is 26 Oct 2012 is a good date for marriage?

    Groom: 1 July 1979

  21. jem says:

hi… would you please check if december 30 2012 or jan 28 2013 is a good date for marriage?
    bride: sept 3, 1983 (pig)
    groom: mar 18, 1981 (rooster)

  22. Lilian says:

    Hello Master,

From the dates that u mentioned above, 30th Dec 2012 seemed like a general good and auspicious date..
Myself & my Fiance are looking and planning to look at 30th Dec 2012 for both our ROM as well as Chinese customary on this special day..

I have consulted with this particular geomancer recently & he generally pointed out that 30th Dec 2012 is generally not a good date for wedding w/o looking at any of our details!!??

Hence, with the details mentioned below, can we kindly get a 2nd opinion from you if 30th Dec 2012 is a good date for us?

    Groom’s D.O.B: 11th Jan 83 (Pig)
    Bride’s D.O.B: 18th Feb 84 (Rat)
    Groom’s Dad: Rooster
    Groom’s Mom: Dog
    Bride’s Dad: Monkey
    Bride’s Mom: Rooster

And also, can I find out more abt ur charged services and what are the details included? Could you send ur services & their charges to the email provided?

Thanks so much & appreciate ur advice!! 🙂

    • Lilian says:

      Hi Master,

My apologies.. Have stated my Fiance’s year of birth by mistake.. It should be..
      Groom’s D.O.B: 11th Jan 84

Thanks a lot once again!! 🙂

      • 7des7iny says:

        Hello Lilian,

Groom: Water Pig, yang Wood person.
Bride: Wood Rat, yang Water person.
        Groom’s Dad: Rooster
        Groom’s Mom: Dog
        Bride’s Dad: Monkey
        Bride’s Mom: Rooster

I beg to differ slightly from what the geomancer has said. 30th Dec 2012 is a very good date by itself even without considering the details of the individuals. However, despite being a good date, it is not compatible with people born in the year of Goat. None of the main personnel are born in the year of Goat. So, this date is pretty highly compatible for you.

Anyway, I would give him the benefit of doubt. Perhaps he is implying that he can further tailor the date for your various activities throughout the day if you would allow him the details of your birthday.

If you have other cultural and traditional ceremonies/procedures included in your wedding, you can consider planning them based on the auspicious dates available. Personally, I only emphasize on the oath of the ceremony because that is the main promise between you and your partner.

  23. Lilian says:

    Hello Master!

Thank you so much for ur advise and yep! Have received ur email with thanks as well~ 🙂

My HTB and I thank you for ur graet assistance! And Happy New Year to u! 🙂

  24. jem says:

Can I find out about uour charged services and what are the details included? Could you send me services & corresponding charges to the email provided? thanks

  25. H says:

Hi! Stumbled across your website by chance. Any chance you can help us find a date in December 2012 or January 2013?
    Bride: 22/12/1979
    Groom: 27/02/1978
    Many thanks

  26. Julie says:

    Great blog/website!

Just wondering whether the dates we’ve chosen for our wedding is suitable/good for us.

    Bride: Tiger 1986
    Groom: Pig 1983
    Wedding Date: 8th December 2012.

Please let me know. Thank you!

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Julie,

      Thank you for your words.

      Bride: Fire Tiger
      Groom: Water Pig

      Wedding Date: 8 Dec 2012
      Not compatible with Rooster pple.
      Avoid Goat hour.

Yes, this date is suitable and supportive for your use even though it is less than a mediocre date for most others.
If possible, schedule, one of the important ceremony within the time range 11am to 1pm.

  27. Julie says:

Thank you kindly for such a quick response! Much appreciated for the information. 🙂

  28. roseisrose says:

    groom and bride also monkey.

    can do on 1 Dec?

  29. Jem says:

Can you give the best wedding dates?
    Bride: sept 3, 1983
    Groom: mar 18, 1981
For the month of dec 2012. Thanks

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Jem,

I have indicated 30 Dec 2012 in an earlier reply to you. Perhaps you prefer more choices.

Bride: Water Pig, yang Wood person.
Groom: Metal Rooster, yin Wood person.

Just avoid the days that are incompatible with pple born in the year of Pig and Rooster.
So, in December 2012, you have twelve good possibilities:
      1, 2, 4, 7, 12, 13, 18, 19, 24, 25, 30, 31 Dec.

  30. cs says:

Hello, what about Groom Goat and Bride Monkey? Any good dates in Feb 2012? Thanks.

  31. Mikki Lee says:

    Hi I’d like to check,

    Husband & wife: snake (husband:9 July 1989 & wide: 8 July 1989

    Is 9 dec 2012 better or 8 dec 2012?

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Mikki,

Husband: Earth Snake, yang Metal person.
Wife: Earth Snake, yin Earth person.

9th Dec 2012 will work for you.
Just note the hour range to avoid conducting important ceremony.

  32. Mikki Lee says:

Thank you so much for the information. Really helped!

  33. Lea Lorraine says:

    Hi Admin,

    Thanks for your article 🙂
Can I get some advice please?

    Me: 15/09/82
    Partner: 28/12/83

    Planning to Wed: 10/11/12 [10 Oct 2012] or 12/12/12

    Thanks in advance!

    • Lea Lorraine says:

I probably should also note that we plan to wed at midday [12pm].

      • Lea Lorraine says:

        10/11/12 [10 NOV 2012] Anytime?
        12/12/12 [12 DEC 2012] at Midday [12pm]

        Sorry 😐

      • 7des7iny says:

        Hi Lea,

Lea: Water Dog, yin Metal person.
Partner: Water Pig, yang Metal person.

Both are very auspicious dates compatible to the both of you.
10/11/12 [10 NOV 2012] Anytime? (Avoid Snake hour)
12/12/12 [12 DEC 2012] at Midday [12pm] (Anytime is fine on this day. So, 12pm does not distort the good energy of the day)

  34. gladys says:

  36. SM says:

Any chance you can help us find a date in December 2012 / January-March 2013
    Bride: 16/11/1983 (Pig)
    Groom: 15/06/1979 (Goat)
    Bride’s Mom: 08/06/1953 (Snake)
    Bride’s Dad: 05/06/1950 (Tiger)

I would love to have my ROM, solemnization and buffer lunch on the same day itself.

    Thanks in advance!

  37. SM says:

Thank you so much for the information…!!

  38. Suryn says:

    Hi Admin,
My fiance and I plan to ROM on 12 Dec 2012. However, this date is not compatible for ox people. Is there any negative impact if we insists on this date?
    Bride : 27 May 1985 (Ox)
    Groom : 31 May 1984 (Rat)
    Bride’s Mom : Dragom
    Bride’s Dad : Pig
    Groom’s Mom : Rabbit

    Thanks in advance

    • 7des7iny says:

      Hi Suryn,

Bride: Wood Ox, yang Fire person.
Groom: Wood Rat, yin Wood person.
Other key personnel: Dragon, Pig, Rabbit

This date is considered a blessing for you if your ROM can be done around noon time.
If it is done in the evening, then this is not a good date for you to use.

      • Suryn says:

        Hi Suryn,

20 Dec 2012 is not good.

10 Dec 2012 works great for you. Avoid Snake hour.

If you are open to other recommendation:
30 Dec 2012. Avoid Snake hour.

      • Limin says:

22 Dec 2012 8.30am is the time groom fetch the bride or the time the bride reach the groom’s house? Or is it the time to pray to ancestors?

Thank you very much for your advice earlier 🙂 Really Appreciate your help.

        Best Regards,

      • 7des7iny says:

        Hi Limin,

Doesn’t matter. The most important part is the oath exchange part between you and your partner.
So it will be more towards praying to ancestors if you have included it in your program.

      • Limin says:

Noted. Then we will pray to the ancestors on 30 Dec (avoiding snake hours). THanks lots for your fast help! 😉 Really very nice of you. All the best to ya!
